Award winning and multi-platinum selling singer-songwriter-producer Tresor, who recently brokered a 7-figure multi-year record deal, is set to feature on Coke Studio Africa 2017 on the 16th of September at 6.05PM on e.tv, pairing with Cameroonian artist, Locko for a Throwback feature on the show.
Tresor has been spearheading pop music across Africa. In a recent interview in Nairobi, Tresor commended Coke Studio Africa 2017 for bringing African artists together. “African music has had barriers for a very long time but Coke Studio Africa 2017 is now a meeting point for artists from all over Africa and we are here to give the world a taste of the best of African music. The collaborations are crucial right now since African artists are at the forefront of influencing pop culture across the globe.”
Locko is an award-winning R&B and Afro Pop artist and one of the most talented bilingual artists in his country. The author, composer and beat maker has won Male Voice and Afro Pop artist of the Year at the CAMEE Awards. He was also nominated as the Best Artist at the AFRIMMA Awards. The singer is currently binging on his latest single Je Serai Laand hit collaboration Me and You with Kenyan songstress Dela, who also features on Coke Studio Africa 2017. Locko is set to feature on a special upcoming Global Fusion Edition episode, alongside mega platinum star Jason Derulo, and 11 other African stars.
Joining Tresor and Locko on this much-anticipated episode will be famed French DRC rapper Youssoupha, and Nigerian dynamo Yemi Alade. The duo will join up to discover more about each other’s music, share their cultures and create an epic song together.
This week’s Big Break will feature future star Dawit Nega from Ethiopia, who will work alongside Angola’s best, Anselmo Ralph, and South African house music masters Mi Casa. Be sure to tune in and be part of music history, aired in more than 30 countries across Africa.
Shekhinah, AKA, Busiswa, Nasty C, Amanda Black and Mafikizolo are among the other top South African musicians featured on Coke Studio Africa 2017. Big name local producers include DJ Maphorisa, Sketchy Bongo and South Africa based Malawian producer, Gemini Major.
