Tholi B Makes 2017’s Destiny Man’s “POWER OF 40

With over a decade in the media industry, undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with on radio and a respected entrepreneur, Rhofiwa “Tholi B” Bologo has been named in Destiny Man’s prestigious “Power of 40” 2017.  The list profiles 40 of South Africa’s most dynamic movers and shakers under the age of 40.

Currently, the station manager on one of Limpopo’s biggest radio stations, Capricorn FM, Tholi B has definitely earned being recognized as one of the country’s influential figures.”

Destiny Man – “With a team of more than 60 reporting to him, Tholi is well on his way to achieving his ultimate goal of starting his own radio station. Given his fierce will to succeed, it can only be a matter of time before he assumes a media mogul’s cloak.”

A trailblazer in his own right, Tholi first stepped into the industry in 2005 having landed himself a slot on the popular Yfm, this after proposing a feature called ‘The Joint Street Team’. In April 2007 he landed his first solo graveyard show. It wasn’t long until his hard work and determination resulted in great success as he went on to host the afternoon drive time show on Yfm called “En Route 6”. A qualified sound engineer, Tholi also spent 7 years in the post-production industry, which more than pre-paired him for journey to follow in becoming one of South Africa’s biggest voices in radio.

He later moved on to host a weekly lunchtime show on Joburg’s 947. Tholi was also in the forefront of 94.7 Highveld Stereo’s transition to 947, attracting new listeners and clients.  His numerous accolades also include presenting multiple shows on SABC 1 and ETV, lending his impressive presenting skills as a field presenter for Supersport Cricket as well being a Master of Ceremonies at numerous prestigious events.

Speaking to Destiny, Tholi says – “I’ve always wanted more than just a three-hour show on radio.  “My previous programme managers will attest that I was always bugging them about topics such as listenership, return on investment and ideas on how to improve. I wanted to impact the radio industry more, which was why I made the move from YFM to 94/7FM. But my idea was always to shape the future of radio, which is why I accepted the role of Station Manager at Polokwane’s Capricorn FM about 14 months ago.”

Having affirmed his stance in the industry, it really is a matter of time before Tholi assumes a media mogul’s cloak.
