The Township Entrepreneurs Alliance (TEA) will be hosting its 4th annual Township Business Innovation Summit under the theme ‘Entrepreneurship in the 4th Industrial Revolution’. The summit will take place over two days from 16 to 17 November 2018 at the Tembisa Christian Family Church, Hospital View in Tembisa. The event is free to attend for all attendees.
The Entrepreneur Fest will commence on the Friday; whereby entrepreneurs will be granted the opportunity to join in on Master Development Sessions. These sessions will consist of topics ranging from Sales & Marketing, Funding, Impact of Innovation, Access to market, Legal and HR. On the main event day, Saturday, a line-up of speakers from the government, corporates and industry leaders will deliver the keynotes to motivate and share their journeys with the attendees.
Some of the key note speakers include the likes of Sibusiso Leope (DJ Sbu), Gareth Cliff, Farah Fortune, Dr McLean Sibanda, Hezron Louw, Teboho Mafodi, Paula Quinsee and many more.
This two day event is for all male and female start-ups, SMME, Entrepreneurs, DFI’s, Angel investors, Professionals, Academics, Community Business leaders and Government. The official sponsors include GEP, Proudly SA, Liquid Telecom, Tsogo Sun, NDP and the Innovation Hub.
“The aim of TEA is to empower Township Entrepreneurs with skills, enterprise development and provide access to market opportunities in South Africa and the SADC” said Bulelani Balabala, founder of TEA.
Furthermore, entrepreneurs will then be afforded an opportunity to showcase their ability to sell their business via a live pitching session to be delivered before a panel of judges made up of procurement heads from some of the largest organisations in the country. The winning pitch will then be furnished with great prizes, including a supplier deal.
Following in on from the main event, to round off the Saturday programme of the 4th annual Township Business Innovation Summit, is the market day featuring entrepreneurs from all walks of life. The layout of the market will include space for 80 exhibitors and the event itself looks to attract 1200+ entrepreneurs over the 2 day extravaganza.
