Get ready for the most thrilling countdown in South African Hip-Hop as MTV Base proudly brings back “Hottest MC’s” in 2023. This year’s two-part 24-minute special is set to be a dynamic showcase of the most influential and exceptional artists in the genre, as decided by an esteemed panel of judges. The episodes will respectively air on 30 November and 1 December on MTV Base, channel 322 at 17:00.

The show’s unique format divides the excitement into two captivating episodes. The first episode unveils the bottom half of the top 10 names that have rocked the South African Hip-Hop scene in 2023. The suspense builds, leading to the second episode where the countdown concludes and the coveted number one spot is revealed.
The heart of “Hottest MC’s” lies in the diverse and influential panel of judges. These industry experts will take on the formidable task of ranking the artists from 1 to 10. Their mission is to find a consensus and determine the hottest MCs of 2023. The confirmed panel of judges includes:
