Coco Brown is a talented club, radio DJ and Le’Afrinique’s #LAChats host who has been making waves in the music industry since 2015 when she won the prestigious Pearl Thusi’s Halo Project DJ competition. She is a graduate of Fuse Academy and completed her final year in Media Practices at Boston Media House in 2022. Brown is also a skilled writer, having contributed to ‘Unlabelled Magazine.’ She co-hosted ‘Brownie Invasion’ on Massiv Metro in 2018 and ‘The Hip-Hop Grid’ on Fashion District Radio in 2019. Coco’s talent and dedication have seen her grow her DJ career through events and platforms, including partnering with JOOX South Africa and being featured on several local radio stations. She was also a Smirnoff and Schweppes ambassador, which highlights her appeal to global brands.
In 2022, Coco hit the ground running when she won gold at the Miller × Boilerroom competition, earning her the opportunity to play live at Boilerroom in Cape Town alongside Zakes Bantwini. She was also featured on YFM’s ‘In The Ring’ and made it to the finals. Currently, Coco is a resident DJ for South Africa’s biggest radio station, Ukhozi FM, where she showcases her incredible DJing skills every Saturday, making the country dance to her tunes.
