Mr. Eazi and Asa [asha] are billed to headline the Bassline Fest set to take place in Johannesburg’s Constitution Hill on this Africa Day, 25 May 2019.
Known as one of the biggest musical spectacles on the continent, the Bassline Fest will bring together twelve of the continent’s freshest entertainers who’ll electrify audiences with exhilarating sounds.
Tickets to the Fest are available via bassline.co.za priced at only R350, Golden Circle at R450 and R150 for children under 12 years old.
The Africa Day celebrations are an enchanting auditory experience aimed to showcase African music, culture and diversity. Under a 25-year celebratory theme, the Bassline Fest will not only celebrate Africa day, but also a milestone 25 years of democracy in South Africa, as well as the celebration of BASSLINE’s silver jubilee.
Soweto Locrate market will ensure that there’s ample good food to eat & drink at the contemporary African Market, which will also host talented artists, designers, chefs & crafters.
Following on festival trends, Bassline Fest will go cashless using Howler’s cashless platform, which will enable a safer, easier, faster and more secure option to purchase tickets and buy food and drinks at the Fest.
Bassline Fest forms part of the Johannesburg leg of the IGODA Festival Circuit. Festivals represented by the IGODA circuit include Azgo Festival – Mozambique, MTN Bushfire – Swaziland, Zakifo Festival – Durban, South Africa, Sakifo Festival – Reunion Island.
This year’s Fest will also prove to be a lovely reunion for some of our artists, with some of the artists having worked on collaborations before. Kenya’s groove master Blinky Blill has previously collaborated with two of the artists: Nigeria’s Mr Eazi and Kenya’s Maia & The Big Sky
Bassline Fest is brought to you by the Department of Arts & Culture, in association with Radio 2000 & TRACE Africa.
