The Galeries de Parfums brand started as a love of niche perfumery by the owner Jide Oyetola, who frequently indulged in our house brands at Harrods and other well-known niche boutique perfumeries. The vision was to bring niche brands to the South African market that are exclusively housed at GDPSA.
The company took off after securing six brands (Kajal, Boadicea the Victorious, Christian Provenzano, Ormonde Jayne, Amouroud, and Fragrance du Bois). which was then officially launched to the public starting as a stand-in Sandton City on the Diamond Walk. The pop-up stand grew within a week and carried on for a year-long with a niche and strong clientele who since followed the brand.
The GDPSA range has since broadened along with the popularity of two new brands that were onboarded on the SA Shores exclusively available at GDPSA: (Atelier des Ors and Nishane).

With the ongoing success, growth, and support from all over the continent to our country. Galeries de parfums is proud to announce the launch of the official store opening in Hyde Park Corner which will host a three-day soiree opening its doors, to thought leaders, lovers of fragrance and luxury as well as knowledgeable fragrance experts and South African A-listers.

It began in 2008 when the brand was launched as a worldwide exclusive in Harrods, soon becoming one of the best-selling fragrances within the renowned Black Hall Perfumery. They have created a range of gender-neutral perfumes that are quintessentially British and of incomparable quality. All Boadicea the Victorious components are made within the UK by experienced manufacturers, each bottle boasting handcrafted elements. As for the ingredients themselves, they are impeccably sourced and of the highest quality.
Kajal Perfumes Paris
Kajal Perfumes Paris is a fragrance house created out of the love of luxury perfumes and scents. The brand inspiration comes from the beauty world: kajal meaning kohl in the Indian culture – a natural product that protects and beautifies the eyes. The company is registered in Paris, France with marketing and product development offices located in Toronto, Canada. Sales and logistics offices are operated out of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The earliest edition was created in 2014 and the newest is from 2022. Kajal fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Rania Jouaneh, Christian Carbonnel, Rosendo Mateu, Urs Castelletti, David Chieze, and Mark Buxton.
Ormonde Jayne
Ormonde Jayne’s philosophy has been to return to the glorious “golden age” of perfumery, an elegant era when fragrance creation was a fine-art, when absolutes were infused for months before filtration, then left to mature before bottling to give a deeper, more complex formulation. Their goal is to combine elements that they consider to define true elegance: The quality of English craftsmanship, the art of French perfumery, and the sensuality and natural harmony of the Orient. Founded by Linda Pilkington in 2000, Ormonde Jayne began as a line of scented candles, however, the house branched into making perfumes as well with titular fragrances Ormonde Man and Ormonde Woman both received five-star reviews.
Christian Provenzano
Christian Provenzano is a world-renowned Master Perfumer with over fifty years of experience in the fragrance industry whose creations have inspired the success of fine fragrance brands worldwide. Provenzano’s fragrances have an unmistakable quality to them born from an attention to detail in selecting only the finest ingredients available. His talents have inspired the success of highly acclaimed creations used in award-winning designer fragrances for a variety of companies producing prestige brands. He moved through several companies in the UK before settling down at his brand, Christian Provenzano, where he has worked for 25 years, helping build it into one of the 10 largest fragrance companies in the world. In 2000, he won a FiFi Award for his work on Agent Provocateur.
Amouroud
Since 1970, Perfumer’s Workshop has pioneered many aspects of the modern business of making fragrances. The first company to custom-blend scents in the luxury category, they paved the way for today’s boutique brands, creating several new niches and markets. The Amouroud fragrances perform so well on the skin not only because of their rich and long-lasting, but also because of the use of oud which is subtle and complimentary to the masterful and eclectic combinations that make up each distinct fragrance. This balance of ingredients is what makes Amouroud unique from other fragrances in the world of oud. The earliest edition was created in 2016 and the newest is from 2019. Amouroud fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Cecile Hua, Patricia Choux, John Mastracola, Claude Dir, Ilias Ermenidis, Irina Burlakova, Jerome Di Marino and Angelique Nadau.
Fragrance Du Bois
Fragrance du Bois showcases the very best of Arabian, Modern Contemporary, and Classical French artistic perfumery. They use only 100% pure, sustainable, and the highest quality natural perfume oils and extracts from sustainable sources around the world. They believe in working with and supporting master perfumers, which brings a variety and depth to their collections seldom found. Fragrance du Bois works with the same perfumers from day one who also not only create their perfumes but supply the perfume concentrate oils which guarantees consistency and quality with no change to their formulations. Fragrance Du Bois, headquartered in Paris, France, is a niche fragrance house that specializes in Oud fragrances. Fragrance Du Bois is also working within the industry to raise awareness of the plight of Aquilaria trees (the source of oud) in the wild, as well as the importance of CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, an inter-government agreement) in protecting rare and endangered species. The earliest edition was created in 2013 and the newest is from 2022. Fragrance Du Bois fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Shadi Samra, Stéphane Bengana, Francois Merle-Baudoin, Pierre-Constantin Guéros, Natalie Gracia-Cetto, Caroline Sabas, Hamid Merati-Kashani, Christian Provenzano, Christian Carbonnel, Guillaume Flavigny, Olivier Pescheux and Alexandra Kosinski.
Atelier des Ors
Atelier des Ors puts its heritage, know-how, and French savoir-faire into each fragrance to make a strong statement in terms of olfaction, design, and a certain aesthetic that communicates refinement and timeless elegance. In Atelier they work with master gold gilders to magnify their creations with subtle engravings and 24k gold stardust for eternal elegance. They collaborate with scent artists, gold gilders, street artists, photographers, and master craftspeople to bring perfumery as art to life. With a wide-ranging portfolio, Marie Salamagne’s, Atelier des Ors’ main perfumer, work has included La Perla Just Precious, Nina Ricci Nina L’Eau (with Olivier Cresp), Jo Malone London Osmanthus Blossom, and Saffron Cologne Intense, and she’s also one of the quartets of perfumers who worked on the new YSL Black Opium. But Atelier des Ors struck a real chord within her, she says.
Nishane
Nishane is the first and only Istanbul-based niche perfume brand that is celebrated globally with an exceptional point of view on artistic perfumery. Inspired by the rooted traditions, modern vision, and the cosmopolitan structure of Istanbul that has embraced so many civilizations; Nishane is an offer of exclusivity sense deriving from a rooted culture. Founded by Mert Güzel & Murat Katran. Nishane’s melting pot of cultures has strong traditions of using fragrance to welcome guests, as Murat describes, ‘as an inherent way of showing hospitality in Turkish culture (just like offering Turkish coffee accompanied by Turkish delight). And so they created their first ‘sharable splash Cologne parfumée series, to modernize this tradition of sharing pleasant odors with others.’ The earliest edition was created in 2013 and the newest is from 2022. Nishane fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Cécile Zarokian, Jorge Lee, Miguel Matos, Julia Rodriguez, Chris Maurice, Sylvain Cara, Ilias Ermenidis, Christian Provenzano, Lucas Sieuzac, Jean-Louis Sieuzac, Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaim.
