Cotton Fest Goes Coastal: Durban Set To Host Debut of Popular Youth Culture Festival

Get ready to experience the hottest youth culture festival in Durban! Cotton Fest, the much-anticipated event that’s been taking Johannesburg and Cape Town by storm since 2019, is making its debut in KZN on Sunday, July 2nd, 2023 at Kings Park Stadium – Outer Field. What’s in store for attendees? Cotton Fest is not just about the music – it’s a celebration of South African street culture with fashion, sports, art, food, and more. With a diverse lineup of some of the hottest talent in the country, the festival promises to be a wild and energetic experience, with performances across two stages.

But the music is just the beginning. The Tuckshop will be offering Cotton Fest classics, as well as collabs with proudly South African brands and local creative collaborators, offering unique pieces, limited branded fashion items, and much-sought-after accessories. Sports enthusiasts can hit the skating ramp and obscure games arena, while the food court will have a huge variety of delicious options on offer. Fully stocked bars will be positioned around the festival, so you won’t go thirsty. And that’s not all! The festival will also feature various photo opportunities, activation spaces, charging stations, and bespoke experiences to use for content creation. There will also be chill areas set up for festival-goers to relax, recharge, and reboot.

Cotton Fest co-founder Bianca Naidoo said, “Durban has always been a city that openly embraces and supports music and youth culture. And we are thrilled to finally bring Cotton Fest home finally. Taking Cotton Fest to Durban, Riky’s birthplace, which was always part of his plan, is particularly special to the whole team”. Security is a top priority, with both uniformed and undercover security present as an active deterrent for possible criminal activity. There will also be a vigilant and fast alert response in the event of any incidents.

Get ready to experience a day of non-stop fun and entertainment at Cotton Fest Durban – a celebration of life, music, and youth culture. “We never die. We multiply”… So, Durban, are you ready? Ticket sales are open and available from Webtickets and Pick ‘n Pay outlets nationwide.
