With female entrepreneurs accounting for less than a third (31%) of all entrepreneurs in the country, according to the 2018 Mastercard Index of Women Entrepreneurs, it is up to local businesses to encourage more women to enter the entrepreneurial sector; not out of necessity but as a means to fulfil a life-long career. With the aim of further expanding on the professional possibilities available to the brand’s female leaders, Avon South Africa has launched its first-ever exclusive beauty pop-up store last week in Sandton City Shopping Centre. This beauty pop-up store was the first of a series to be rolled out over the next three months across South Africa.
According to Precilla Kalogeropoulos, Head of Integrated Marketing Communications at Avon, the implementation of these exclusive beauty pop-up stores is to increase the accessibility and awareness of our brand to a wider target audience, so that we can further provide representatives with a platform to gain new customers and grow their businesses. “Customers are also given an occasion where they can find out as much information about the brand and experience Avon’s premium range of products,” says Precilla.
She adds that while staying true to the brand’s business model, they implemented a selection process whereby representatives and sales leaders were able to apply to take part in these exciting events. “At this stage the Avon beauty pop-up stores are only in selected locations, but should they prove to be a success, will be roll out in more stores nationally to help empower more women to become an entrepreneur and live a life of financial freedom.
Avon Beauty Pop-Up Stores will be available exclusively at selected malls, markets and business parks in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban. Selected make-up, skincare and fragrance products will be available for purchase. All other items that are not at the Beauty Pop-up store can be ordered from the brochure and through a representative.
