South African BAYEKELE hit-maker, Dj Melzi collaborates with the British KING OF AFRO-DANCE, A-Star on a unique dance anthem titled ‘PIKA PIKA’ (translated as bright, shiny, glistering) co-written by Enaiyo. ‘PIKA PIKA’ is one of the musical releases that consist of Amapiano synths and wide percussive basslines while having a catchy and vibey beat that encourages dancing. This release disrupted the norm, to show creatives that they have control and power over their art.
Sharing their thoughts, this is what the artists had to say about the new release, “We were nervous and extremely excited at the same time to release ‘ PIKA PIKA’. It being such a unique collaboration, we spent a lot of time trying to come up with a sound that is out of the ordinary but is still relatable; with right now feeling like it was best that we released it and shared it with the world.”
Staying true to themselves, growth, and the process of creating; the hit-makers went on to reassure fans that there will be more music created and put out for them to vibe and dance to, “The plan has always been to create – be it music, art or dance”. ‘PIKA PIKA’ dropped Friday, 09 12 22 (Friday, 09 December 2022) for all fans across the globe.
