Trailblazing vocalist and guitarist, Msaki comes to The Orbit for the first time to share music from her much-lauded album Zaneliza: How The Water Moves on the 17 May 2017.
Msaki will also be sharing new music, and new arrangements of some old favourites. Msaki will be sharing the stage with musicians and composers from the immensely talented band, The Golden Circle.
Msaki’s sound combines soulful folk with symphonic movements, IsiXhosa lyrics and African polyrhythms with portals of sincere improvisations, and this is evident in her stage presence. Her raw delivery disrupts your senses, leaving you moved and quietly longing for more as she weaves subtle tales of love, loss, home, revolution and hope.
It comes as no surprise, then, that Msaki was recently nominated for a Sama. Wednesday will surely be a night to remember.
